Most City facilities closed July 4 for Independence Day

AUBURN, Ala. - Most City facilities will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Downtown parking will be free with the exception of the Wright Street Parking Deck.
Garbage, trash and recycling collection routes will remain on their regular schedules. Public Safety services will remain on their regular schedules.
The Auburn Public Library will be closed. Book drops will remain open, and the online collection of e-books, e-audiobooks and digital magazines are always available at auburnal.gov/library.
All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed except for the Samford Pool and the Lake Wilmore Park Pool. The pools will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for open swim. Samford Pool will be open for recreational swim only, however, lap lanes will be available for use. All City of Auburn parks, playgrounds and cemeteries will be open from sunrise to sunset.
The community is invited to Parks and Recreation's Independence Day Celebration on July 4 at 5 p.m. at the field behind Duck Samford Stadium. Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m.
